Steve Hewitt is the editor of New England Basketball Journal, where he leads a team of writers covering amateur basketball across the region. He primarily covers boys basketball and co-hosts the HoopWise podcast. He joined the company in 2024 after spending 10 years at the Boston Herald.

Steve was previously the Celtics beat writer at the Herald, where he also covered college basketball and was an AP Top 25 voter. He also covered the 2018 World Series, Super Bowl LIII and the 2022 NBA Finals in his time at the Herald. Steve is a 2014 graduate of UMass.
