Eric Seamans
Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Eric Seamans is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Seamans Media, a multimedia entity that focuses on high-level amateur sports in the baseball, golf, hockey, lacrosse, skiing and soccer space across digital, television, podcast and print platforms.
Eric founded the company in 1995 in his parents’ garage at the age of 25 with his father Robert J. Seamans, Sr. (1929-2001). The first title was New England Hockey Journal, and New England Ski Journal followed shortly thereafter.
Under Eric’s leadership, Seamans Media has grown into one of the largest regional sports media companies in the world. With a laser focus on journalism and audience growth across all brands and platforms, Seamans Media has amassed an unmatched network of media assets that reach millions of readers, listeners and viewers.
Along the way Eric expanded the Seamans Media footprint to include Emmy-nominated TV shows, with New England Hockey Journal TV beginning in 2013 and New England Ski Journal TV in 2014. Both shows air on the New England Sports Network (NESN) one of the largest regional sports networks in the country and home of the Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins.
In 2018 Eric transformed Seamans Media from a company focused primarily on print and broadcast into a multimedia, digitally driven company. By introducing a paywall in front of most of the content, Eric and his team have been able to continue his commitment to investing in best-in-class journalism and analysis.
These strategic shifts have resulted in year-over-year growth in paid subscriptions, advertising revenue, television ratings and substantial traffic increases across all web sites, podcasts downloads, newsletters and social media followers.
