All of our magazines are full-color tabloid-size (11x14) monthly periodicals that are FREE to our readers. They are available wherever people play or purchase equipment for the sports they play. Timeline
1995New England Hockey Journal is started out of a garage in Quincy, Mass., by Eric Seamans and his father, Robert J. Seamans, Sr. (1929-2001), to fill the New England region's void for a quality hockey magazine that covered all segments of the sport. Since that time, New England Hockey Journal has become the cornerstone of our print portfolio. According to most of our advertisers and ad agencies, it is the gold standard in hockey journalism.
1996New England Ski Journal and skijournal.com are launched, covering the ski and ride industry throughout the region. New England Ski Journal is now one of the longest-published regional ski publications in the world. New England Ski Journal was named the 2009 winner of Award in Print Excellence and Superb Craftsmanship in Magazine Newsprint from the Graphic Communications Industry of Rhode Island.
1997Hockeyjournal.com is launched as one of the first-ever regional hockey websites, since that time, it has become one of the highest-trafficked regional hockey websites in the world. Hockeyjournal.com's daily coverage includes up-to-the-minute Bruins news and information, plus in-depth coverage on every New England college hockey division, minors, preps and high schools.
1997The New England Hockey Journal Radio Show is started. The show most recently aired on ESPN Boston 890-AM on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. -- hockey drive time -- and is hosted by Hockey Hall of Famer Kevin Paul Dupont of The Boston Globe and New England Hockey Journal, along with Mick Colageo. In 2009, the show showed consistently showed up in Arbitron ratings for the male 21-29 and 25-54 demographic.
2008New England Lacrosse Journal and laxjournal.com are formed. Within 24 months, almost every major lacrosse equipment manufacturer and retailer in the sport is advertising in every issue and sees immediate return on their advertising investment.
2010New England Baseball Journal and baseballjournal.com added to lineup, filling New England's insatiable appetite for all levels of baseball, from the Red Sox to the Cape Cod League to high schools. Within two issues some of the most iconic brands in baseball are advertising in every issue and online.
2010New York Hockey Journal and nyhockeyjournal.com added to line up and set to debut in January 2011. Seamans Media hockey footprint will now reach just about every hockey player, parent and decision maker on the East coast with a combined reach of over 1.4 million magazine readers per year.
